Dennis Maruk has joined the Scotiabank Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer team!
As once recognized as much for for his moustache as his goal-scoring exploits, Dennis Maruk played 14 seasons in the NHL, dressing for the California Golden Seals, the Cleveland Barons, the Minnesota North Stars and the Washington Capitals. While his teams regularly struggled to compete, Dennis stood out as his team’s scoring star, including a career-best 60 goals with Washington in 1982. At the time of his retirement from the NHL in 1989, Maruk had accumulated 878 points in 888 regular season games. To this day, Dennis Maruk ranks as one of the Capitals’ all-time great alumni, considered in the same breath as Mike Gartner, Dale Hunter and Rod Langway. In 2017, his autobiography was published, titled ‘Dennis Maruk: The Unforgettable Story of Hockey’s Forgotten 60-Goal Man.
